FEATURED OFFERING:
Reclaimed Doug Fir Beams and Lumber
Currently we have under deconstruction a massive 1923 grain storage building in Idaho, comprised of old-growth Douglas fir circle-sawn timbers, joists and planking. The yield from this exceptional cache of DF will total approximately 400,000 board feet, in various dimensions from 2 X 12 to 12 X 12.
One of the first projects to showcase the Idaho DF is the new Hopmonk Tavern, a classic British tavern and beer garden opened by Dean Biersch, co-founder of Gordon Biersch Brewing Company. In a century-old stone building, the strikingly beautiful, rustic DF flooring and outdoor decking are warm, charactered backdrops for the vivid red banquettes and heavy beams in the tavern.
Old-growth DF forests are fast becoming endangered--logging in these forests is limited and in some areas, no longer allowed. According to the B.C. Environmental Network, the "Coastal Douglas fir ecosystem is soon to be ranked on a global scale as endangered."
The size and quality of this stock of first-growth Douglas fir makes this a valuable Woodbank offering: early purchase will merit discount pricing.
