OAK WINE BARREL STAVES

Quercus robur, AKA French Oak

Oak harvested from the Le Troncais Forest in Central France, this wood was chosen for its tight grain and high tannin content, and split, not sawn, which maintained the tight grain necessary for a high-quality wine. These French oak barriques were used to age vintages between 1960 and 1980--some of the best years in the history of Chateau Talbot Vineyards. Excellent for custom wine cellars, flooring and millwork. Find out more.

  JUVENILE TEAK
Tectona grandis

We've developed alternative used for millions of board feet of "thinnings" from teak plantation co-ops in Central America. Some of the material is cut and dried to mill specs for interior and exterior furniture production, cabinetry and millwork.

Color variations are green to yellow and black. Thinnings are ideal for agricultural uses, decks, trellises and latticework; for vigas and lattias in Southwest-style architecture; in locations where rot-resistance is paramount. Our thinnings have also been used for home building in the plantation community to enhance cultural development.
